Well the Kindle solves that problem. Simply move the cursor to the beginning of the word and a dictionary definition will pop up! A great feature that I will be using all the time!

The Kindle is a great way to surf the web, but due to the screen size websites can get a bit cluttered. If you prefer to read your web articles like a book then you need to know about Article Mode. Press the Enter key and zoom into the section of the web page which has the article you want to read. After zooming in select the article. Select Menu and select Article Mode. The article will reformat into book style and allow you to read the article as if it were another book on the Kindle!

If you are lucky enough to own a lovely Kindle 3, then there are a few hidden features that not everyone knows about. One of these features is the shortcut to type numbers direct from the keypad.

As I’m sure you are aware, normally if you want to write numbers, you have to use the symbol button and then navigate to the number you want to use, and hit select. A little annoying.

However, on the Kindle 3, you can use a shortcut and type numbers by pressing and holding Alt + the top row of letters.

Watch this video to see the shortcut in action:

Every Kindle has an email address that you can use to email files to your kindle. But what if you don’t know your kindle email address?

Here is how you can find it:

Login to the Manage Your Kindle section of Amazon:

www.amazon.co.uk/myk (UK)
www.amazon.com/myk (US)

You need to look at the menu on the left of the page. Under the heading “Your Kindle Account”, you will find a link that says “Manage Your Devices”.

Under “Registered Kindle”, you will be able to find your email address, which will look something like “yourname_36@kindle.com”

Once you have found this email address, you can just send a file to your kindle by sending a blank email to this email address with the file as an attachment!
